Self abandonment energetically through hypervigilance or hypovigilance.
Either state is an indication that we’re not practising mindfulness towards ourselves, we’re not being mindful of our energy levels.
We are either overextending ourselves or underextending ourselves, not extending ourselves at all, and the invitation is to be mindful to practise mindfulness about the energy levels in our body.
When are we feeling very tired and lethargic, can we gee ourselves up, can we ennervate ourselves.
When are we feeling absolutely exhausted and pushing ourselves to the brink and need to rein it in and start to rest and look after ourselves.
So paying attention to our energy levels increasingly is a way of avoiding abandoning on that energetic level, understanding what our body needs. Do we need to rest or do we need to take some exercise and promote and energise ourselves.
