Trauma is a natural reaction to experiences that feel threatening, dangerous, or beyond our ability to cope. Issues can arise when we experience symptoms from our body and mind becoming retriggered over and over again long after the trauma event has passed.  It is the body/mind reaction to the trauma event that becomes the issue manifesting in continuing and debilitating symptoms and conditions and ways of being, thinking and feeling that can hold us back in our life

Somatic Massage offers ‘more than just a massage’ - we will undertake a thorough consultation to ensure a clear understanding of your needs for your treatment. Taking into account a brief history, discussion of presenting symptoms and needs, stress factors (these may be physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, relational, energy related) and lifestyle (job, home, commitments) as well as the basics – sleep, hydration, nutrition, exercise, relaxation, fun, joy, support in your life.


Sessions can raise your awareness of and gain a sense of your own body, its patterns and limitations, often physical though connected to mental limitations and emotions we may not wish to feel or feel too much. You may notice tension and tightness, feel pain you were not previously aware of, realise how you have holding patterns or restrictions. Sessions can help you identify and release these symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief, trauma and stress that may no longer serve you, and instead bring about welcome balance and an inner faith. 


Every session will be different, in response to your needs each time. I meet you where you are at on each occasion, allowing you to be fully present with yourself and to meet yourself fully, perhaps for the first time in a while, if ever. I am honoured to be a witness, to hold space for you and to validate you fully as you are.


There is time following your somatic massage to fully feel, absorb and integrate your session. Noticing any different feelings, sensations, inner experiences, thoughts, and how you now feel towards your body and whether that feels any different to when you arrived.
