Chronic stress - there may be triggers us in our environment that keep triggering us, that keep sending us into the stress states, so we end up living in a sense of perpetual, chronic stress. Our body reacts to certain situations in the same way as if it feels unsafe and what this means physiologically on the body is that the gut brain signals to the brain that we’re in danger and so the corresponding physiological responses that occur from the brain is that our stress hormones are released, let’s say it’s a stressful situation and this has a whole raft of symptoms that occur within the body, reactions that occur within the body, that then determine whether we are going to be in a stress state or a rest and digest state - we have the two opposites.
